Mikey Bo Make's Appearance With Miami's DJ Khaled

SOURCE: SOBE LIVE, SOHH.COM & ALLHIPHOP.com

The Nebraska top gun appeared on DJ Khaled's [Drive At 5] show today. Remember this guy? DJ Ski? DJ Mikey Bo? His mastered disc jockey persona awarded him International recognition in 2007 & 2008. Mikey Bo won 'BATTLE OF THE NATIONS DJ's', right here in Miami in 2006, and since, his career has been followed by many hopefuls of a mainstream launch. Bo's back in the saddle for 2011 gunning for just that. He announced his return to DJ work to Khaled with hopes to enter the mainstream market. Bo plans to abandon his underground sample-mastery and work more within the top-40 market within his productions and DJ work.

The pair can be heard trading jokes regarding Bo's old 'tricks of the trade' on the tables, the evolution of Miami's sound over the past year & Mikey's own lyrical flows. Khaled challenged Mikey Bo to a FREESTYLE-OFF at a local bar in the evening, and Bo laughingly replies "i'd bury him." Khaled picked friendly fun with DJ for the majority of the show. Khaled furthered his banter by stating to his listener's that 'Mikey Bo could drink any Ni**a under the table, HANDS DOWN!"

Khaled invited Bo to co-host and appear on the segment regarding his first mixtape release within his solo material. Mikey Bo states "my solo material is just puddy-play right now, so we will see how I evolve with it, if at all." "Right now, i'm just playing Khaled." "Let a boy play."

Khaled then states "Play-away Mikey Bo, cause this record is forest fire." Mikey Bo released his first mixtape single entitled "aii" on the show. Khaled praised the record and suggested to Bo he would be eagerly waiting for his 'BIG SINGLE' in the spring of 2011. Bo replied, "I'm already hard at work on it sir."

Mikey Bo also held a segment on KROWM INC. (officially pronounced chrome). KROWM (www.krowm.com) is Mikey Bo's new company & will be launching this coming year. KROWM MUSIC is already underway. Bo discussed his new cast of talent to debut next year on his KROWM imprint. Artist's such as John Boy, The Klassiks, Monica Olivera & Jacob Mather were all noted by Mikey today, to be releasing material in 2011.

**ALERT** NEW 'MIKEY BO' NEWS FOR 2011

I've been thumbing through a number of emails over the past year coming into this site; asking what was going on within this page and why we stopped updating. We stopped updating because Mikey Bo seemed to stop putting out projects, music, news, etc.. We had nothing to report (sad face). However, this all has changed today (happy face). I received an amazing email this morning from his old publicist AYISHA STARKLAND. I will share the email in here as soon as I get her approval. Although she did give me some AMAZING news to update with.

Mr. Mikey Bo has left Bluri Incoporated (which is sad and disappointing) but he is relaunching a brand new company entitled KROWM (www.krowm.com) [pronounced chrome] which is owned and operated by his new entertainment firm he started entitled bownd entertainment (www.bownd.com). KROWM will be similar to what we've come acquainted to within Bluri. Ayisha said in her email Mikey "will be talking all about this in an interview shortly". It seems neither of the websites have officially launched but she said they will all be up before the first of the year.

On an even better foot, Mikey Bo is launching a comeback DJ career. He will be going on tour in 2011 (details coming soon) and he also has recorded his very own mixtape (solo artist) EP. The album will be titled "TARGET PRACTICE" and a tracklisting will be provided soon. She said 17 tracks are expected appear on the project as of today. [as soon as we get this information we will post it] Mikeybo.com is also set to launch before the new year (HAPPY FACE)

I also have included a few AMAZING & AWESOME pictures that have leaked on the world wide web this week by mog.com, globalgrind.com and zimbio.com. The photo's were done by Dave Christi Photography. ENJOY! Mikey is back!!! The wait and was worth it and I know we all cant wait to hear his new sounds.!

Popeater.com Launches Mikey Bo Interview

We have finally got some Mikey Bo news and it just might be everything we've been wanting to here. Popeater [www.popeater.com] released a video interview today of Mikey Bo answering some questions & discussing his current career status with Linda Burke in Studio City, California.

Burke took to the emails and asked a lot of questions for their viewers. read below on a few excerpts:

There has been a number of reports about you working on a solo project? Is there any truth to this?

MikeyBo: Yea, i've been playing around in the studio for quite some time now. I've been putting in some work in the booth. There are times i'm happy with what i'm hearing and there are some other times that I'm not. I've been trying to be really patient with it. It's a big decision to put these songs out there. I want to make sure i'm happy with them and I'm starting to get to a place where I'm liking the records. Hopefully, something will be out soon. There has been a lot of pressure to make sure these work and are good. Time has always been the issue on what's going on with this. I'm just not too into rushing it.

Bluri Music is being suggested to launch this year? What can we expect from this and when?

MikeyBo: Sure, Bluri has been what i've donated much of my time to this past year. I just had a vision on where I wanted to go with my music and i've searched the country for people to help get that vision a reality along side me. We've signed a number of artists. It's been a real challenging role to adapt to. I've been working really hard on my own projects, yet at the same time i've been producing and A&R-ing theirs. We have about fourteen acts we're working real hard with right now. Lot's of my time has been trying to get this up and ready. It's been a real growing experience for me. So many songs. It's fun or has been fun I guess. It will be real rewarding to start to let some of these songs loose. We've worked real hard this past year and I'm excited to see where that work will take us."

So many bloggers and urban outlet's report that you really disappeared from the music scene over the past few years? Before we started this interview today we spoke about this a little. I remember working with you on an interview in Miami during your DJ years and I must say it's like meeting two different people here?

During those times I was jumping into a DJ career that was basically set up for me by a great management firm. I dove into something that changed my life overnight. I wasn't prepared for that as a person and I didn't have to do too much work to get it. I didn't know what the lifestyle of that life was like. I would say I adjusted to things in a way the regressed me back to where I was before I even started with my music. I first jumped into music because it was a passion in my life and I wanted to be responsible for that. I read somewhere that, that is how you find true happiness. My music career started because I got off track with my life and I wanted to find ways to be happy. So, I set out to do what my dreams foresaw. When that dream became a reality within months I dove right into it head first. What that brought me was a lot of misfortune and disappointment. I learned to true brutality of the industry. I learned that people are not so nice and that money derived everything, not the sounds. I basically went back home depressed and let down. Over the past few years I really sat back and reanalyzed my life. I needed to find out what was important to me. Just why I was pursuing this career basically. Was i doing it for me or was I doing it for the wrong reasons? I really dug into my faith, family and friends the past few years. I worked on healing some jaded wounds. I basically worked on becoming happy again and re-asking myself just what my passions in life were. Honestly, I'm in such a good place today. My friends back in Nebraska really saved me. I've been so lucky to have a great collective group of people who care nothing about what I could do or become, but rather who I am now. It's scary to sacrifice so much time of your life to something that might not ever come to be. I've donated the past five years of my life to a passion, a dream. To be successful at this type of risk comes from a strong foundation and I needed to rebuild that.

There was about 20 emails that poured into our website asking us to ask you about the productions you did for The University of Nebraska on a Tunnel Walk song? What is this about and why have you never spoken about it before to the Nebraska media?

(laughs) It's funny to me because i've worked on so many songs and been a part of some real cool projects and it seems I will always just be known in Nebraska as that guy who did that tunnel walk song. It's even made word all the way out here. (laughs). I've never really spoken about it before for a few reasons. First, I never really set out to do a song for UNL or change anything for the school. I've been a Nebraska fan my whole life so I was pretty much in the same seat as all the critics when I found out that the song was changing and a license was being sought for on the record. I wasn't too excited about that but at the same time I thought it could be a good move for the school to adapt to what some of the other programs were doing. I was disappointed how brutal the media was on it all. I was advised by a publicity company, I was with at the time, to dust it under the rug and go on with things and to decline all interviews. We felt anything I would have said would have been wrong, taken out of context or just made matters worse at the end of the day. Looking back I think that was the best thing I could have done was just walk away. There really was no need for me to say anything about it. The controversy that came from that was a little much and we had so many things going on at the time that I couldn't really sit and focus on that. It was a great honor to be a part of that and I hope some people liked the song. I regularly get emails, as well, asking where they can get an mp3 of the song. (laughs).

TOP STORY: Mikey Bo Fires His [New-York-City] Management Firm ‘Mood Swing 360’

Mikey Bo hasn't made news in quite some time. However, he sure raised some eyebrows today. Smart or stupid? Nobody knows just yet. However, Mikey Bo's attorney confirms termination paperwork towards his long-term management contract with Ricky Greenstein & Johnny Maroney. The top management firm 'Mood Swing 360' just lost another emerging act. (http://www.moodswing360.com). Most recently, Mood Swing lost their artist, DJ AM, due to a tragic yet mysterious death. The firm currently manages acts such as Tila Tequila, DJ Green Latern, Schwayze, Pete Wentz, Sizzahandz amongst many others.

No word from Mikey Bo's camp has been issued on this termination. However, a Mood Swing 360 spokesman issued the following statement: "We hope there are no ill feelings from Mikey's camp and we wish him the best of luck in the future."

Blogs are already fired up on Bo's questionable future. Many are stating this might mark the end of his inspirational reign. Mikey Bo managed to become a dominant figure within his musical route. Most noteably recognized as a top Disc Jockey and emerging musical producer, Bo was just rising to new heights. His branding success & international exposure has been worth noting. His musical future remains questionable at this time.

New Nebraska Anthem Leaks Entitled EPIC (Produced By Mikey Bo)

It's official... the number is two. Two years, more specifically. That is the amount of time The Nebraska-lands have decided constitutes enough of a healing period for Mikey Bo to have endured for his previous ‘2007 Tunnel Walk Entrance’ sizzler. Now, it’s 2009 & Nebraska has put him back on the drawing board to stir up some needed odes to hail for their fighting Cornhusker's. Perhaps some leeway has to be given to the fact that the Nebraska born producer might not have known what hysteria was going to be caused by altering The Cornhusker's mighty entrance just two short years ago. This time; however, descends from a more seasoned vet who has currently positioned himself as one of the most dominant musical producers on the International market. Just two years ago, Nebraska knew Mikey Bo as a “DJ” and a possible emerging talent within the midwest market. Today, Mikey Bo is none other than ‘WHAT’S HAPPENING” is modern music. Bo has developed one of the biggest entertainment resume’s possible. Racking up tracks with artists such as Rihanna, The Rascal Flatt’s, Britney Spears, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Quinton Storm, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Petey Pablo & Simple Plan amongst many others. Hailed “Remixer Of The Year” by United Kingdom based iDJ MAGAZINE & The Chief Executive Officer of the multi-million visit website, Bluri; housing over nine corporate companies. Most recently, Bo’s been nabbed by MAJOR MOVIES FILMS to begin scoring top blockbuster films for 2010 & just landed a SOLO LP deal (additionally set to release in 2010). If people thought Bo’s previous criticisms with UNL’s music attempts were harsh, I wouldn't worry about him too much. It might just be safe to assume, from an accomplishment standpoint, working on risky tunnel track might not be something that would alter his mind set too much.

How and why this happened again? Well, Mikey Bo’s camp, plea’s the fifth on all aspects of his work with The University Of Nebraska. Bohuslavsky has never spoke on his work with UNL previously and still won’t today (according to his rep’s). However, rumors are a stir on what this record’s future might hold. Where will this track be used? Is this song taking the intro spot of this years Tunnel Walk? No one is too sure just yet, however, those close to Bo’s camp have stated the track will not be used within this years Tunnel Walk. However, it will be issued as a new fanfare for all aspects of The University Of Nebraska. Critic’s have already jumped aboard on Mikey Bo’s involvement by stating his work on this years University endeavor’s constitutes a possible tease for a brighter intent and future within UNL’s music market

Nonetheless, Bo dropped his sequel. The properly titled, “EPIC,” has hit the world wide web. The track was just reviewed by Filmtracks who scored the record a 9/10. Not only that, Filmtracks reviewed the track so pretentious in its expectations they intentionally reviewed the record as a “rapid-fire” sequel. Bo’s first attempt (in 2007) was co-orchestrated by Charlie Clouser and Alfonzo Lee Jones. The initial release went on to be placed by a number of vendor’s, most notably, the SAW MOVIES. For Husker collectors, there is much satisfaction in the continuing collaboration between Mikey Bo and his previous crew. The trio might have historically made another orchestral bravado of the times.

‘EPIC’ is a smash success, and will be claimed as such by us, before Nebraska’s ungrateful get ahold of it. Some Nebraska listeners won't be able to hear past the incessant ensemble hits (and their synthetic counterparts). Others might not see past the mix of the extremely heavy bass region at times, again emulating everything related to the crowd atmosphere. Part of this circumstance is also owed to the fact that Mikey Bo’s records are composed to adjust to UNL’s sound systems. Some complaints from fans about inconsistent sound quality in Memorial Stadium (which has hit a number of Nebraska chat rooms) won't matter for casual listeners because of the generally high range of the entire score.

Both Bo’s current and previous themes are quite memorable, generating even more than a simple impact. In the most basic sense, you can be assured that if the progression you're hearing is in the major key (or a combination of minor and major, ending in the latter), you're being treated to a representation of a full composition. In his previous attempt, Mikey Bo often relied upon a forceful blend of synthetic and organic sounds, employing an orchestra as his only tool with which to lend depth to his array of electronic keyboarding and sampled effects. Various grating sounds, some imitating percussion while other distorting brass effects, exist in slapping rhythms of dissonance on this attempt. A much more seasoned approach was made apparent this time around. Mikey Bo's work for The University comes excruciatingly close to earning a four-star rating from our perspective. It would otherwise be impossible to pass you by without as much as a single jolt to stir you from your slumber. Bo brings his pop/hip-hop experience into classic play, adding an addictive sway for all ages.

Beyond the review, Bo’s produced records for his hometown are resulting in other collegiate departments taking notice. Eight more schools have joined up on signature productions from alumni. Although, don’t expect other schools such as Missouri, Kansas State, Oregon State or Oklahoma to find such orchestration as this. Mikey Bo will easily keep Nebraska ahead of the curve. Not many can do what he does.

Mikey Bo's Official Fansite Gets First Update In 4 Years

Good news for all of those Mikey Bo's fans. Mikey first burst onto the scene as a DJ in 2004. Our first gift was the invention of his official website: http://www.mikeybo.com/ The site used to be ran by Branson Entertainment until the end of 2008. In 2009, Unique Streak and Mikey Bo's new camp ceased back control of the existing site. The current site features a new cover page hinting at the release of a new website later this year.

Zero news on his solo project or production schedule was enlisted within the content. Mikey is looking healthy & happy on the site though; smacking down all types of rumors on his dismissal in recent years. Bo seems to be ready to get back in the game after his 2 year hiatus.

Mikey Bo is expected to unleash his new myspace and website soon as we will keep you all posted..

Mikey Bo Releases New Version Of 'Departed" With Pop Star, Brandy

Brandy has given us a new Mikey Bo Production. This single is entitled, 'Departed' and is the official remix to her smash single. The record is amazing and was featured on her website last week. bo's remixes are catching on like fire across major sites right now. His latest work with Brandy just earned him iDJ Magazine's remixer of the week. iDJ named five of his remixes on their article. (article will be coming soon). Lollipop, Womanizer, Best Best, What Hurts The Most & Kiss Kiss.

It would be hard not to mention them all. Bo's truly a master on the remixes & each one has been worthy of single stature. Bo commented on the brilliance of his partner, Alfonzo Jones. on his latest work. We will be finding more information on his soon.

Bo's version of 'Departed' can be found on his official myspace (http://www.myspace.com/mikeybo). We hope you like it.

Britney Spears Brings Mikey Bo Aboard For "Womanizer Remix"

Mikey Bo has worked with Britney Spears & camp in the past. Bo revamped Spears' last single, 'Gimme More' with excellence. It would be hard to think the pair could come up with anything bigger than their last collab, but they did. Britney's latest remix of 'Womanizer' was snagged by Mikey Bo & has blasted with ad's. It scored the number one spot on Last.fm's countdown three times in a row and was featured on Britney Spears' official website for two months. Rumors hit the Bo was also working on a remix to 'Circus" but this was squashed by Mikey's publicist, Keith Sutherland, who claimed Mikey was hard at work on other projects at this time.

The record features Omaha rapper, (Te') Pronounced (tay). The remix has been out for a few weeks already and is blasting its way across every fan site possible. This might be Mikey's most successful remix yet.

We are hoping Bo can asisst Britney's next album as well.

A New Mikey Bo Photo Surfaces

Mikey Bo has still managed to remain on the scene the past two years by doing limited remixes. productions & DJ work. What we haven't seen from him or his camp has been new cutting edge visuals. Bo has been known in the industry to have some outstanding visuals and marketing ploys. Unique Streak Imaging still runs all Bo's images.

Many fans are in hopes for a full fledged comeback in 2009. Mikey Bo's camp released one of the first pictures of him we've seen in two years, today, on his official myspace (http://www.myspace.com/mikeybo). As you can see Mikey still looks great. We are hoping for his comeback to be sooner than later. By the looks of this photo, he still seems to be a superstar by first glance.

Rumors Bo has signed with Missy Elliott's label were squashed last month, but other rumors with Atlantic Records & Intercope have been kept to a mum. A new rumor has leaked that Bo's first solo record to assist in the promotion of this artist career will be entitled, "Hate Away" and will feature the r&b recording artist, David Verity. The two have done a number of records together in the past. We hope there is truth to this. Enjoy this photo.

Kanye West Leaks New. Mikey Bo. Version Of 'Love Lockdown'

Kanye West has leaked a new version of 'Love Lockdown'. The new remix version was done by, none other than, Mikey Bo. Bo blasted the remix off with a little tribal action smoothed over by some wicked synths. I personaly like this version much better and so do a host of other online blogs. The remix has taken off like wildifre across the net.

Mikey Bo has been limited on his remixes lately. hopefully some more great record can be expected soon. Rumors of an eventual Brandy, Coldplay & Chritinia Milian flip have hit the web. We will keep you posted.

Mikey Bo Art Revealed For A.T.O.

Mikey Bo's camp of The Bluri Music Group (http://www.blurimusic.com/) and Unique Streak (http://www.uniquestreak.com/) unveiled some image art for Bo's upcoming project entitled, A.T.O.. No new information was given on the project once new images surfaced. Recent reports on other blogs have suggested two tracks will be leaking this Fall. The records, "Bo (The Introduction)" & "Beats Made" were the first two hints of eventual buzz records to begin promo on the project.

Bo cut over thirty records for the A.T.O. project, in under two weeks, at The Platinum Recording Studio. An EP has also been rumored to leak on itunes in 2009 so fans and critics alike can begin to gather some of those records for viewing. The tracks on the EP will be of those not making the cut on his debut project, A.T.O.., only because they didn't fit the mold of the project as well as some the others. Records such as "Temper" & "You Don't Want Anymore Problems" were given as possible examples of club records to start the stir on his EP promo. Bo metioned them as some of his favorite tracks with DJ Vee on XM's Hip Hop Talk Radio Show. Mikey Bo stated, "these records were real experimental and meant more for a overseas ear." "I just wanted to experiment with some off sounds and I really liked them and I don't know if they'd fit too well with the tracklisting compiled for A.T.O.." Bo's camp plans on releasing all thirty cuts in the near future so all songs can be heard in due time.

In other news, Mikey Bo is hard at work with his graphic company Unique Streak on the relaunch of Bluri.com and it's online community. Both set to relaunch this fall. Bo is also working hard on outside production projects with new artists such as, Freestyle, Marcellus, Jacob Mather, Prestege, Case Calcaterra, Young Trev, Cirle Troop, P.S., Logan Houston, Tyler Evans, Blake Kempton, Bethany Hamm, Gabriel Young, Lil Zout, Jinx & many more.

Who’s Best-Best?

Timbaland Protégé’s Battle Off Over Missy Elliott’s “Best-Best” Single

Old school rap battles still take place on every street across the country. Beat battles have always surfaced amongst mixtapes and underground disc scratching contests but not too often do you see battles taking place across mainstream radio. Elliott always seems to have a trick up her sleeve and she did just that to get the promo started on her seventh studio album entitled, “Block Party.” The battle between Danjahandz and Mikey Bo’s production styles has officially begun over Elliott’s “Best Best” single. Both main stage producers remained under the working thumb of Timbaland years prior, now, both are breaking out on their own production tip. Missy Elliott enticed the festivities by releasing two versions of her debut single, one from each producer. The release comes street style; on the vote of who’s track is hotter. Danjahandz has already won the knod (according to Atlantic Records release information} (www.missy-elliott.com). However, the Mikey Bo version is crawling across radio stations and internet blogs faster than the original. So, why did Mikey Bo get the snub? Atlantic chose the Danjahandz production over Bo’s due to “branding” and “rankings” in comparison to Mikey‘s current status.

Bo hasn’t branded himself enough and remains too quiet in retrospect to Danja’s higher buzz within the industry. Bo commented on the single and Atlantic’s response, via telephone, stating; “I love the Danja single and I’m just happy Missy is coming back with her seventh album.” “She’s one of my idols and it’s just an honor to touch anything she’s involved in regardless of the outcome for myself.” “Sometimes the love for your craft comes before a dollar sign and just touching the song was honor enough for me.” “I’m also a big fan of Nathans (Danja) and the work he’s doing right now is amazing and I couldn’t be happier for him.” Bo was also put on the spot when asked about his work on his rumored debut album. His response: [a laugh, a short pause, another laugh and then a muttered,] “well, I’m just working on lots and don’t have too much to say about all that I guess.” Bo still won’t budge on any talk regarding his project. Mikey Bo is set to release a remixed track with Keri Hilson next week titled, “Energy.” Bo also has been rumored to be producing LL Cool J’s new artist “Izzo.”
